WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday. Today's word is Easter.

I have put a different slant on mine. Yesterday I was visiting blogs and one lady,of course,I cannot remember who it was. This old memory thing of mine only works part time now. Anyway, she was remembering back in the 50's and our Easters. Her folks had little just like mine. But like ours,we always had a new Easter dress, shoes, hat and gloves. Along with a beautiful Easter basket FULL of goodies.

Here are some of the ones we all might have worn. Remember?????????

Our family was like yours. We didn't have much, but we always got a new Easter dress. The ones you showed are just gorgeous. Hugs, Marty

Same here, and more often than not, Mother made our dresses when we were little. :-)

Yes, only my mom would have MADE the dress and the shoes would have been shiny patten leather.

That is just how I dressed my two girls when they were little. Now that my daughter has a daughter of her own, she is shopping for the pretty Easter dress. Her (and most Moms around here) complain that the Easter dresses are all sleeveless. Here in Pennsylvania, we put a winter coat over our Easter clothes, expecially for an outdoor sunrise service. Brrrrrrr.

We sure weren't rich either but the pictures of me in my Easter clothes always brought a smile to my face. I have two younger sisters and the three of us decked out in our Easter finery was so fun. Sometimes my dress was a hand me down from my cousin but she had such pretty things I was always so happy to have them.. A friend's sister said to me one day, how we always looked like little dolls, I was so touched and surprised.. what we had was very modest, but my Mom had us scrubbed and pincurled to perfection! Bless her heart she is struggling for her life as I write this..she is still a great Mom. Love, Cindy

I love the photographs of my mother and her sisters on Easter. They looked so pretty all dolled up in their hats and gloves.

I wish I could find dresses like that for my girls!! They are adorable!! I remember my mother used to dress my little sister in that style when we were smaller. :)

Hi Ann
How nice to see things I used to wear. Very cool.
I always looked forward to wearing my new Easter hat made of straw. My aunty would make my sister and I identical dresses. I love it. I had shinny white patten leather shoes.
Happy WW and Happy Easter
Love Claudie

Hey Girlfriend...

Just me..tryin' to play "catch-up" on your posts that I hadn't seen!

Ohhh yes, I do remember when I was just a young little thing...yep, at one time I was!!! hehe!!! My sis, brother, and me always got new outfits for Easter...it was a big thing!!! My sis and I usually got matching outfits...dresses, hats, gloves, and little purses! I always tried to do the same for my 3 girls while they were growing up...I ended up doing alot of sewing because we were always on such a tight budget! But my girls were always so good about it...thankful for their handmade clothes! Ohhh..what a sweet trip down memory lane you took me on today, my friend!!!

By the way...my favorite little dress is the first one...that pretty organza dress..it's so beautiful, isn't it? Love it!

Love ya,
Chari
