I know from watching the Food Network that the dozen eggs in any one carton never met or necessarily even came from the same farm. And it only takes one to make you ill. I am still looking for pasteurized raw eggs in the stores in my area.
Because of health issues, I am a little afraid to use raw unpasteurized eggs. I am going to copy and keep the recipe however, for the day when I find pasteurized eggs. For me, a little goes a long way because of the richness, but DH can finish a quart in two sittings.

I haven't had egg nog for years. I'm not sure why I stopped making it. I'll have to give it a try, again. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Hugs, Terrie

Ann- thanks for the recipe! This sound similar to my moms with the vanilla ice cream in it-

I saw on Terrie's blog comments that you are not feeling well too- I am so sorry- You take care of yourself- my perscription is a nice long hot bath with lots of bubbles and a pot of tea next to the fire with your feet up and a good book! Know it seems impossible during this time of year but it's more important than any decorations- you take care of yourself girl!

Hi Ann, thanks for posting about the egg nog. I don't remember drinking egg nog since I was a little girl. But my great aunt (Tante) was the one in the family who always made the egg nog, and of course we all thought hers was the best in the world! Your post today brought back memories of her!

My hubby loves egg nog sooo much. But it doesn't sit on his tummy too well. It's so funny when he drinks it...then complains how awful he feels...then immediately goes and gets another glass!

Hi, I'm bj and came over to see you from CINDY'S...
This luscious sounding egg nog seems to be about the same recipe used by my dad years and years ago...ummm, it was so good. Now, after reading your recipe, I am going to use it and make us all some for Christmas Eve.
Thanks for sharing....
MERRY CHRISTMAS, bj
