http://picturespotspens.blogspot.com/
TODAY I WILL SHOW YOU PICTURES OF
MY PATURNAL GREAT-GRAND PARENTS.
WHEN I WAS ABOUT 4 OR 5 YEARS OLD,
MY MOM WORKED FOR A SHORT TIME.
I STAYED WITH MY PATURNAL GRAND
MOTHER.HER HOUSE WAS HUGE.WHILE
GRANDMA WAS BUSTLING AROUND THE
HOUSE I STAYED IN FRONT OF THE FIRE
PLACE.USUALLY PLAYING WITH MY
PAPER DOLLS.ON THE WALL WERE THESE
(TO A LITTLE GIRL)GIGANTIC PICTURES .
IT SEEMED EVERYWHERE I WENT IN THE
ROOM THEIR EYES FOLLOWED ME.BUT IN-
STEAD OF BEING AFRAID.I WAS COMFORTED.
I FELT THEY WERE WATCHING ME AND PRO-
TECTING ME.
AFTER MY GRANDPARENTS DEATH THEY
WERE PASSED DOWN TO MY MOM AND DAD.
I BEGGED FOR THESE PICTURES FOR YEARS.
I MEAN BEGGED.FINALLY ONE DAY,I TOLD
MY MOM THE SAME STORY I'M TELLING YOU.
I GOT EM,I GOT EM........
TODAY,THEY HANG IN MY BEDROOM.I THINK
THEY ARE STILL WATCHING OVER ME,PRO-
TECTING ME.THANK YOU......

I can understand why these pictures of your paternal grandparents give you a feeling of comfort. In too many old pictures the subjects look so grim. No so here. You can see the kindness emanating from their faces. You have a true treasure.

It's great that those pictures gave you comfort.

The old pictures I used to see as a kid scared me to death.

Ann, I've added you name to the list! Sorry - I don't believe your email came through.

I felt as if I were sitting by that fireplace beside you...love your description of your grandparent's home and how you felt. Some of those older photos can be scary for youngsters - glad your gave you comfort.

Thank you for sharing these,
Hugs,
Deborah

I have pictures like these all over my house. Most are of family, a few I don't know the people. I just like old photos. The frames that these are in are beautiful! thanks for visiting me today!

I love old photo's. I have some really cool ones I want to hang, but my mother in law hates the people in the photos. I don't want to hear about it so I'll hang em when she's dead! I don't know why you don't show on my blog, but I have still got to figure out how to post the blogs I like to follow. (does that make sense?) Thanks for stopping by.

You scored BIG on that one, didn't you??! Lucky girl:)

We have some of those family pictures floating around. Unfortunately, I was TERRIFIED of them as a child!!!! My relatives didn't appear to be comforting, just SCARY!

GM Ann!
I had the same problem with the city on that quiz. It finally asked which one or something like that... I selected my city & state from a drop-down box, then I got the results. So try again, my friend!

I loved the story about your grandparents & their pictures. I wish I'd had a connection like that.

Ann...Those pictures are wonderful! I also have pictures of my relatives in my bedroom and it does give you a sense of belonging to a long history of people loving each other. I can just see you by the fireplace with your paperdolls. Weren't paperdolls wonderful? I loved them better than dolls. Whatever happened to them?? Debbie
